Top Underrated Shounen Anime 2020

Updated: Sep 9

The world of Shonen Anime has a lot more than Naruto, One Piece, and My Hero Academia, which are heavy hitters. Although with popular shows nothing is wrong, sometimes you want something different. Sometimes. That's why the shonen anime is underrated.

Let's first have a fast definition. Shonen means any boys series, usually under 15 years of age. While anyone of any age or sex can enjoy it, this is the demographic target. So you won't see much romance as long as you see a ton of action and supernatural battles. Katekyo Hitman Reborn is a great series like this. But it's more than just action to shonen. Some shows, such as Beck and Silver Spoon, focus on characters who strive to achieve meaningful goals beyond the fighting sphere-the creation of a band.

Yoshino learns that Mahiro has enlisted the help of Hakaze-Kusaribe in identifying the killer of Aika and an entity called the "tree of the exodus." But Hakaze is banned from the wilderness, and the world is now being saved by Yoshino and Mahiro, while ever closer to the truth behind Aika's death.

Rating: 9/10

However, this is often just a vague definition of these entities that inhabit the colorful world of Mushishi, that even calling them a sort of life would be an oversimplification. Detailed information on Mushi is scarce because the bulk of humans are unaware of its existence. So, what are the Mushi, and why are they? this is often the matter that Ginko, the "Mushishi," continually ponders. Mushishi is those that seek Mushi within the hope of understanding their place within the world hierarchy of life. Ginko is chasing rumors of events that would be linked to Mushi, all for the sake of finding a solution. After all, it could lead to the meaning of life itself.
