Lonely student of high school, Yukiteru Amano, spends his days writing a cell phone diary, talking about it and the god of time and place, Deus Ex Machina, his two apparently imaginary friends, and Murmur, the god's servant. Deus is a true entity and gives Yukiteru a "Random Diary" that gives you highly descriptive entries based on the future and forces you into a bloody royal battle with 11 other owners of similarly powerful future newspapers.
The new god of time and space is the last person who must find and kill the remaining 11 to survive. With great reluctance, he works in tandem with his obsessive stalker Yuno Gasai (who also has such a diary). However, the girl has more than meets the eye, because her unrequited love might have other plans ...
