Ichigo Kurosaki is a normal high school student before the Hollow, a twisted spirit that seeks to devour human souls, threatens his kin. He encountered a Soul Reaper named Rukia Kuchiki who was injured while defending the family of Ichigo against the assailant. Ichigo accepts Rukia's plan to take on his powers in order to save his family and as a result, becomes Soul Reaper.
However, since Rukia can no longer regain her authority, Ichigo has the deep task of pursuing the Hollows which plague her city. Yet he's not alone in his fight, as he is later joined by his colleagues, classmates Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryuu Ishida. As Ichigo and his comrades are habituated to their new duties and stand on and off the battlefield, the young Soul Reaper soon discovers that the Hollows are not the only possible threat to the human race.
